Cory Ryan’s music speaks to the soul. His rich blend of folk-rock and lyrical depth is not easily categorized, but it is easy to listen to. Every song is a piece of Americana, and the original lyrics remain surprisingly relatable. His debut album, Blank Slate, has been met with much adulation and success.
Cory, a Cleveland native, developed his singing/songwriting skills in Nashville. His formal music training moved him to album development, touring and performing with legends such as Beth Nielsen Chapman, and Brian Welch of Korn. In addition to his touring and writing schedule, Cory leads worship at a 15,000 member KC church, directing & leading worship with 5 different bands for multiple services. Cory partners with Elixir Strings and Taylor Guitar, teaches seminars on songwriting and band development at conferences, mentors high school and young adult musicians and continues to be commissioned to write for prestigious organizations around the country. The Power Arts Company’s “The Blankies” CD has received awards from Parents Choice, Teachers Choice and Dr. Toy (Cory is the voice of Zodi).
Cory Ryan, with Vessel Worship, performed their original music at the 2014 and 2015 Worship Leader Conferences and their latest album, Vibe EP1, was chosen and reviewed in the January/February 2015 Worship Leader Magazine. Cory served as panelist on the Song Discovery board at the 2015 National Worship Leader Conference. Cory sees his worship as prayer set to music.
